I am interested in how biologically plausible neural networks learn, compute and form memories. Specifically, I am interested in the part that complex synaptic plasticity dynamics, homeostasis and feedback in recurrent neural circuits play in achieving this. How do different forms of plasticity interact sensibly with the dynamics of neural circuits such that the brain works?
To address these questions I use analytical tools from dynamical systems and control theory on the one hand and computational techniques from machine learning and high-performance computing on the other hand.
